Local court in Islamabad decides to indict Imran Khan on may 10 in Toshakhana case

ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad has decided to indict former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.

The district and sessions court in Islamabad has summoned Imran Khan him on May 10.

The court will convict Imran Khan on May 10 in the Toshakhana reference case.

Earlier, the court reserved its decision while hearing the case. The district and sessions judge Humayun Dilawar rejected two applications of Imran Khan and decided to indict him in this case.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry appeared in the court of Additional Session Judge Humayun Dilawar. He urged the judge to adjourn the hearing in the absence of Imran Khan’s counsel Khawaja Harris, who did not appear in the court on Friday.

The Election Commission of Pakistan referred the Toshakhana case to the district and sessions court.

The Commission said that former prime minister had filed false statements about the gifts he received from Toshakhana as prime minister.

Importantly, the PDM led federal government filed a reference against PTI Chairman. The government accused Khan of not sharing the details of gifts he retained from Toshakhana in his assets declarations.
