Canada Cuts Visa Processing Time for Pakistani Visitors

Canada has reduced the visa processing time for Pakistani applicants who want to visit the country.

Sean Fraser, the Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, announced that his department has reduced the visa processing time from 802 days to just 60 days.

He also pledged to expedite the process even further and complete it within a month.

The Minister Tweeted:

“Visa processing times are not 802 days for new applications. Currently, a complete TRV application from Pakistan will be processed in 60 days, and we expect to hit 30 days in the near future.”

The Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Sean Fraser, stated that the backlog of older visa applications during the pandemic caused the delay in explaining the prolonged visa processing duration on their website.

However, he mentioned that they have made significant progress in reducing the backlog of Pakistani Temporary Resident Visas (TRVs), which has gone down from 55,000 to less than 15,000.
