Gujrat’s court grants interim bail to Parvez Elahi in corruption cases till May 23
GUJRAT/ISLAMABAD: A local court in Gujrat granted interim bail to the former chief minister of Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi till May 23 in corruption cases.
Elahi had filed an application with the anti-corruption court in Gujrat for interim bail in two different anti-corruption cases.
Corruption cases against Elahi were registered in Gujrat and Gujranwala cities. The former chief minister is facing kickbacks allegations in development schemes. Talking to the media, Parvez Ealhi said Defense Minister Khawaja Asif exposed the real face of the PML-N in parliament on Tuesday.

“These people are lying and defaming the higher judiciary,” the PTI leader stated.
Lahore High Court grants protective bail to Ch. Parvez Elahi till May 15
Earlier, the Lahore High Court today granted protective bail to Chaudhry Parvez Elahi till May 15. Elahi is the former Punjab chief minister and PTI President.
Lahore police registered a case against Elahi under terrorism and other charges. The case was registered at the Ghalib Market police station after a joint midnight raid of the anti-corruption department and police at the Lahore residence of Elahi.
The court also directed Elahi to approach the court concerned in this case.
Parvez Elahi’s lawyer told the court that Police were filing cases against Elahi on a daily basis. Here, therefore, sought a protective bail in the terrorism case.
In the petition, the Punjab caretaker government, the anti-corruption department, Ghalib Market police station, and others were made parties.
Lahore High Court had directed the former chief minister of Punjab Pervez Elahi to approach the relevant court to obtain bail.
