Shaheen back in Pakistan squad for white-ball series against New Zealand

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming home series against West Indies, which will begin on April 14th. The pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to make his return to international cricket after a four-month gap.

Also, The PCB said in a press release that Shaheen had missed five Tests and three ODIs since the T20 World Cup in November last year due to a knee injury that required rehabilitation.

So, The cricketing board noted that Shaheen had made a remarkable comeback in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League, leading his team Lahore Qalanders to become the first side to successfully defend the title.

Also, The PCB stated that skipper Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Rizwan will return to both squads after resting for last month’s T20I series against Afghanistan in Sharjah.

However, According to the PCB, Babar Azam will resume his role as captain for the ODI and T20I series against New Zealand.

In Addition, Shadab Khan will return to his previous position as vice-captain.

Additionally, The cricketing board announced that they have included three young players, Ihsanullah, Saim Ayub, and Zaman Khan, in the T20I squad for their impressive performances in Sharjah.

Furthermore, they have selected Ihsanullah for the first time in his career to the ODI squad.

Moreover, The squad will gather in Lahore on April 6th, with the training camp starting the following day, April 7th.
