Islamabad Police appointed Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf as a goodwill ambassador and awarded him the honorary DSP rank.
Also, Rauf expressed his excitement on Twitter and stated that he is truly honored to serve as a goodwill ambassador for the Islamabad Police and wear their uniform, just like the heroes who risk their lives in the line of duty.
Rauf expressed his gratitude towards Islamabad IG Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan and the Islamabad police for acknowledging his contributions to Pakistan.
He stated, “The IG and Islamabad police have made me their goodwill ambassador, and I am thankful for this opportunity.” Rauf also mentioned that he would always be available to assist them whenever needed.
The Islamabad police chief also shared his thoughts on the matter, saying that it was an honor for them to have Rauf as their ambassador.
“As Haris is from Islamabad, it gives us great pleasure to appoint him as our ambassador. We believe that he will represent Islamabad police well,” he added.
After participating in open trials held by the Lahore Qalandars, Rauf, who used to play tape ball cricket in Rawalpindi, gained fame.
The PSL franchise invested in him and sent him to Australia for player development. Rauf made his T20I debut for Pakistan in 2020 and has since become the team’s main bowler, leading alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Also, He was a key player in Qalandars’ consecutive PSL title victories, along with Afridi.

It is noteworthy that Balochistan Police appointed fast-bowler Naseem Shah as their Goodwill Ambassador in February this year, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police appointed Shaheen as their goodwill ambassador in July last year.
Also, In a special ceremony held in his honor, KP police appointed Shaheen as an Honorary DSP, with badges pinned on him by KP IG Moazzam Jah Ansari.
