Nashville School Shooting: Former Graduate Student Audrey Hale Kills Six, Including Three Children

Nashville School Shooting: Audrey Hale, a former graduate student, shot and killed at least six people, including three children, in a Nashville school.

US President Joe Biden called the shooting “heartbreaking and every family’s worst nightmare” and noted that it was the deadliest incident of gun violence in nearly a year.

According to the police, the attack was targeted and a 28-year-old former student was also among the victims.

At a news conference, Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake revealed that Audrey Hale had used three guns to carry out the shooting after entering through a side door.

He also stated that the shooter had detailed maps of the school, conducted surveillance, and identified multiple entry points.

Police Report

The police reported that the incident, which resulted in the death of the suspect, lasted for 14 minutes.

The church owned the school in Nashville, and spokesperson Don Aaron said there was no security guard present at the time of the shooting.

The police responded immediately upon hearing the shots and fatally shot the Nashville school shooter.

Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake stated that investigators believe the shooter may have initially intended to target another location in Nashville, but backed out due to increased security measures.

It is worth noting that Audrey Hale, who committed the shooting, was transgender and used male pronouns on social media.

According to Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake:

Audrey Hale had two legally-owned weapons, including an AR-style rifle, AR-style pistol, and a handgun.

And Police recovered them right after the shooting.

The police believe that Hale obtained at least two of these weapons legally.

The police are currently investigating the motive behind the attack and are taking Audrey Hale’s father into consideration during the investigation.

The school president confirmed that the shooter was a former graduate of Nossi College of Art and Design Nashville, having graduated just last year.
