ISLAMABAD: A TTP commander and five other militants died in a blast in Khost province of Afghanistan on Thursday.

Fifteen TTP militants also sustained injuries when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded in Afghanistan.

This development surfaces a few days after a high-ranking Pakistani delegation visited Afghanistan to discuss security matters.

Defence Minister Khwaja Asif, Director General of ISI Lt-Gen. Nadeem Anjum and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar visited Kabul. They discussed terrorism and other security matters with acting deputy prime minister of Afghanistan Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.

Abdul Manan, Alam Khan Mudakhel, Kajir, and three others unidentified died in the IED blast in Khost province on Thursday.

TTO Commanders Fazl Amin, Muhammad alias Tofan, Noor Payo Khan, Faqirullah, Turzai, Sat Kare, Ali Sir Khan, Zubair, Hijratullah, Kamal, Sher Afzal, Bakhtullah, and Zubihullah sustained injuries in the attack.

Meanwhile, in another attack, Makram Harasani, in-charge of TTP’s Umar Media Group, also suffered injuries.

Pakistani delegation visited Kabul last week to take up growing incidents of terror attacks in Pakistan. The delegation sought Afghan Taliban help to crush the TTP militants and to overcome attacks in Pakistan.

In recent months, Pakistan has recorded multiple terrorist incidents in the country which involved the TTP. The recent major incident was the attack on the Karachi police chief office.
