Multan Sultans have suffered a significant setback with pacer Shahnawaz Dahani being ruled out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 due to a fractured index finger. The 24-year-old bowler, who had already taken 55 wickets in 41 T20 matches over the course of his career, has been replaced by fast bowler Muhammad Ilyas.
Dahani was hit on the finger during their match against Lahore Qalandars. The Mohammed Rizwan-led team (Multan Sultan) lost the match by just one run at Multan Cricket Stadium.
The decision to bring in Muhammad Ilyas as a replacement for Dahani was not an easy one. There were reports that the franchise was considering West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite as a replacement. However, in the end, they replaced Dahani with Ilyas. Ilyas has played for Multan Sultans in the past.

Multan Sultans is hoping to overcome this setback and perform well in the upcoming matches of the PSL. Moreover, Mohammad Rizwan and Sohaib Maqsood are very talented players of Multan Sultan.

However, the franchise has acted quickly to bring in a replacement for him. Muhammad Ilyas, a fast bowler with some experience under his belt, has been brought in to take Dahani’s place.
