“You don’t need a date to dissolve the assemblies, you need courage,”: Marriyum

Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday responded to the former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s announcement to dissolve the provincial assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab on Dec 23, saying it was another ruse.

“You don’t need a date to dissolve the assemblies, you need courage,”  Marriyum stated.

Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, was criticised by Marriyum Aurengzeb. She said that dissolving assemblies requires courage rather than dates.

She claimed that Imran Khan is attempting to deflect attention from the Toshakhana and foreign funding case in her remarks at a press conference on Saturday in Islamabad, following the PTI chairman’s announcement to dissolve the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies on December 23 (Friday).

Aurangzeb attacked Imran Khan in a rant, demanding to know why he was providing an extension when the former army chief General (r) Qamar Javed Bajwa was already doing everything.

She continued, “Imran Khan has nothing to do with the people or democracy.”
