Six killed, many injured in Afghan forces attack on civilians at Chaman border

CHAMAN: Six people were killed and many other injured in another attack on Chaman border by Afghan security forces.

This time, Afghan forces targeted civilians at the border point in Balochistan.

Injured people and bodies have been shifted to the hospital while an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of unprovoked attack of Afghan security forces on civilians at the Chaman border.

The Inter-Services Public Relations said that the Afghan forces used heavy weapons including artillery and mortars in attack on Pakistani civilians.

“Pakistani border troops have given befitting albeit measured response against the uncalled for aggression but avoided targeting innocent civilians in the area,” the statement said.

The ISPR further said that Pakistani authorities have approached their counterparts in Kabul to highlight the “severity” of the situation, demanding “strict action to obviate any such recurrence of the incident in future.”

Daily thousands of people from both the sides cross border for trade, jobs and to go back to their families. Afghan forces attack on Pakistani civilians at Chaman border does not make any sense except their inhuman approach.
