Over 50,000 social accounts and pages involved in anti-Pakistani agenda banned

ISLAMABAD: Another 55,000 social media accounts and pages involved in anti-Pakistan propaganda have been closed. Most of such accounts were being operated from India, Iran, Afghanistan and some other countries.

With the help of the cybercrime officials of the FIA, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has identified thousands of social media accounts and pages which were actively engaged in damaging image of Pakistan and creating social and economic issues.

Meanwhile, the federal government has sent 75 letters to 15 different countries, seeking their help against groups involved in anti-Pakistan agenda on social platform networks.

So far, Pakistan government has filed 78,000 complaints against anti-state social media accounts and page and action against 17,000 was still pending.

It was learnt that thousands of social media users in India, Germany, United States, Afghanistan, and Iran were promoting their nefarious agenda of damaging Pakistan’s image and interests.
