KARACHI: In a tragic incident, a car driver shot and killed a police officer after he reportedly asked about suspicious activity late on Monday night in Defence Phase V of the port city.
The suspect has been identified as Khurram Nisar who is the Former deputy commissioner’s son. He and his accomplice have been arrested, according to SSP South Asad Raza in a conversation with reporters. The car and weapon that were used in the incident have also been found.

Suspicious activity was allegedly noticed by the martyred officer, Abdul Rehman, and his colleague, who then pursued and spoke to the suspect.
When the police attempted to take the suspect to the police station, SSP Raza claimed that the latter opened fire at the cop, critically wounding him.
He claimed the suspect attempted to stop a car and had the intention of robbing a woman. A woman was in the suspect’s car, according to the police’s initial statement. The woman who was allegedly found sitting in the suspect’s car, however, has not yet been tracked.

According to the SSP, the suspect opened fire with two to three shots from inside his vehicle before driving off.
He added that Nisar arrived in Karachi on November 5 after departing from Sweden. He added that the situation has been reported to the highway and airport authorities in order to stop the suspect from trying to flee.

If anyone has any information about the suspect, the SSP asked that they contact the police.
Furthermore, he claimed that Rehman retaliated by firing at the suspect as well.
Rehman died as a result of a single headshot, according to the post-mortem report. According to the police, a 9mm pistol was used to fire the bullet at close range.
