PEMRA bans airing Imran Khan’s Live/recorded speeches, press conferences

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Saturday placed a ban on airing live and recorded speeches and media talks of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

The decision to ban Imran khan’s speeches was made given his contentious remarks against state institutions.

The authorities ordered the television networks to halt airing live or recorded broadcasts of Imran Khan’s media interviews and speeches.

PEMRA has now prohibited TV broadcasters from airing Imran Khan’s remarks twice in a span of roughly two and a half months.

Imran Khan’s live addresses were previously prohibited from being broadcast on any satellite TV networks with immediate effect by the electronic media authority in August.
