In a case involving bank fraud, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested ARY anchor Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain on Thursday near Hussain Chowk in Lahore.
In accordance with a press release from the organisation, Hussain was listed as “wanted” in case 94/2011 by the Commercial Banking Circle of the FIA.
It added that two of the anchor’s sons were also charged in the case and claimed that Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain obtained an Rs50 million loan from a bank in 2003 by using phony paperwork.
According to the FIA, Hussain has a perpetual warrant (a warrant that cannot be released on bail) issued by a banking court in Lahore.
“Additional inquiries are being conducted,”
Hussain’s son, Umar, confirmed the arrest in an interview with ARY News while also stating that his father was with friends at a coffee shop in the Gulberg neighbourhood when a team of 30 to 40 FIA officers arrived.
“There was an old case where we had provided testimony, and it had to do with the property.
There was no announcement made. He has been taken in an absurd case, he claimed.
