CTD officials kill five terrorists in Mastung after heavy gun-battle

QUETTA/ISLAMABAD: The officials of the Counter Terrorism Department killed five terrorists of a proscribed outfit after a heavy gun battle in the Mastung area in Balochistan.

The intelligence-based operation was carried out against the terrorists by the counter-terrorism department (CTD) and security agencies.

The security agencies raided the hide-out of terrorist in the Splinji area of Mastung which led to an exchange of fire for five hours.

According to the CTD, the terrorists used hand grenades, injured three security personnel who were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

The dead bodies of the terrorists were shifted to a local hospital where the process of their identification was being carried out.

During operation, the security officials also recovered a heavy cache of arms and ammunition from the slain terrorists.

CTD spokesperson said the terrorists were involved in attacks on civilians, government installations, and they had plans to target security forces and pilgrims.
