Bailable arrest warrant issued for CEO K-Electric

On account of a power outage, the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued a bailable arrest warrant for the CEO of K-Electric.

Details indicate that the SHC heard the power outage case.

The Additional IG was given an hour to comply with the demand after the court issued an arrest warrant for CEO K-Electric that was subject to bail.

The police were ordered by the judge to turn over KE CEO in an hour.

K Electric representatives appeared in court following the issuance of the arrest warrant and said that the reason the electricity was cut off was not due to their company but rather a problem with the NTDC transmission line.

Justice Salahuddin Panhwar stated that the KE receives a monthly bill from the Sindh High Court for Rs6 million and questioned how judges could perform their jobs without energy.

The SHC bench stated that it is the KE’s responsibility to supply electricity from the mobile generator.

Justice Salahuddin Panhwar stated that the SHC should have access to electricity at all times.

The court ordered KE officials to submit written suggestions on how to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the courts.
