Sindh has been devastated by recent flooding and heavy rains, which have killed at least 702 people and damaged more than 1.7 million homes.
At least 702 people were killed and 8,422 were injured in floods brought on by monsoon rains, according to the focal point for flood relief in Sindh. In the meantime, the flooding has resulted in the deaths of up to 271,181 cattle.
The focal person added that crops grown on 4.8 million acres and nearly 1.7 million homes in Sindh were both devastated.
The focal person for rescue operations in the province provided details of the aid given, stating that 2,962 relief camps were serving the needs of the victims in the impacted areas. In addition, he stated that “about 0.5 million affectedees were relocated to relief camps.”
According to divisional breakdown, relief camps were created in the following cities: Hyderabad, 296; Shaheed Benazirabad, 579; Mir Pur Khas, 50; Sukkur, 269; Larkana, 1,727; and Karachi, 41.
In addition, the province administration has given 2.1 million mosquito nets and 263,750 tents to flood victims.
