Punjab has reported 215 new dengue virus cases in the past 24 hours, continuing a spike in dengue disease.
In a statement, the secretary of health for Punjab stated that on the previous day, 47 instances of the mosquito-borne sickness had been registered in Rawalpindi and 105 cases of the dengue virus had been reported from Lahore.
In addition, Gujranwala reported 18 dengue virus cases, while Kasur, Vehari, and Sheikupura each reported three cases.
According to the Punjab Secretary of Health, 3,645 dengue cases have been reported in the province so far this year, with 1,489 of those cases being isolated to Lahore.
He added that 879 people are currently receiving treatment at the province’s medical facilities, while four people have already passed away in Punjab as a result of dengue fever this year.
In Sindh, the dengue virus continues to be more prevalent throughout the monsoon season. Karachi, the provincial capital, reported 349 new cases of the virus in the previous day.
