Ahsan Iqbal, the minister for planning, development, and special initiatives stated on Sunday that the foreign assistance the nation is receiving for the flood victims could help stabilize the rupee.
Although the recent floods and torrential rains across the nation had caused more than $30 billion in losses, he claimed Pakistan’s economy had managed to recover.
During his visit to the flood-affected districts of Tehsil Khairpur Nathan Shah in Sindh, Iqbal was speaking with the media. He advised everyone to get involved in humanitarian efforts rather than politics at this time.
The minister also went over the nearby relief facility that the Pakistan Navy has set up. He received an update on the rescue effort and relief efforts of the navy.
Iqbal, who also serves as the director of the National Flood Response Coordination Center, enquired as to the challenges confronting the local government, the community, and camp residents.
According to him, calamity had been brought on by climate change challenges, but the Pakistani nation’s spirit was unbreakable and would enable it to be overcome with unity and solidarity.
