On Friday, a bird struck the engine of a Saudi Airline passenger plane as it landed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
Passengers on board the Boeing 330 were reportedly travelling from Jeddah to Pakistan when the incident occurred.
The pilot, though, was able to land the jet safely.
According to a statement released by a representative of Saudi Airlines, the first engine on board Flight SV 700 was damaged when a bird flew into it.
As a result, the next scheduled flight, SV 701 (Karachi to Jeddah), had to be rescheduled while the plane was grounded briefly for repairs.
After the airline confirmed the cancellation of the next flight, all passengers were ordered back to their hotels.
The spokesperson also confirmed that the passengers would be transferred to Jeddah the next morning.
Accidentally hitting a bird after landing at New Islamabad International Airport in February, a private airliner almost avoided a catastrophe.
A bird damaged a private airplane, PF-125, causing wing damage. Nonetheless, the pilot made it back to the airport without incident.
