The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) will issue Lt Gen (retd) Amjad Shoaib another notice for spreading “false news” on Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s meeting with an Israeli delegation, officials stated on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the former military official was called in by the FIA on September 7 after making a false statement concerning a meeting between the Pakistani premier and an Israeli team.
They claimed that he failed to appear before the FIA’s Cybercrimes Wing.
According to Amjad Shoaib, the prime minister met with the Israeli delegation while he was in a Gulf nation.
Amjad Shoaib is the subject of an investigation by the Cybercrimes Wing into the allegedly false video.
