Software Update: A PTI worker says sorry for saying she would set Pakistan on fire

Strong opposition has lately been voiced by PTI backers in response to the registration of a terror case against former prime minister Imran Khan for threatening police officials and a female magistrate.

On August 21, police in Islamabad charged Imran Khan with making terroristic threats on August 20 during a public rally, filing a complaint under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Code (ATC).

PTI supporters reacted by taking to the streets to prevent the arrest of the party chair. A female PTI supporter was filmed at one of these protests, and her video has since gone viral.

In it, she is heard using some harsh language to describe Pakistan.
PTI supporters reacted by taking to the streets to prevent the arrest of the party chair.

The woman explained, “We don’t have any love for Pakistan right now because there are traitors, and we have a lot of rage and [we] feel like lighting the country on fire.”

When pressed further about what would happen if Imran Khan were to be taken into custody, the woman repeated that PTI supporters would shut down all of Pakistan and set everything on fire.

She stated that the administration had dispatched the armed forces and police to deal with the Imran Khan situation.

The footage was edited together with another clip, filmed at a later time, in which the same woman explains that she was at a protest when she got a call regarding the possible arrest of Imran Khan.

She said she was sorry because she realized how many inappropriate things she had spoken in her fury. She then claimed that she “didn’t mean that” when she threatened to burn the country on fire. She continued, “We expect our opinion to be heard since everyone loves their nation.”
