ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd said its optical fiber network is experiencing “technical faults” because of heavy rains and floods in various parts of the country.
The company, however, stated that it is making efforts to restore services. Till Friday noon, the company has partially restored its services in most parts of the country.
“Due to heavy rains and floods, PTCL’s optical fiber network is experiencing some technical faults,” according to a statement posted on Twitter.
“PTCL users in Northern and Central regions are experiencing internet disruption,” the statement said.
Earlier, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said internet connectivity problems that have been reported by the PTCL have been caused by an “issue” in data networks between the South and North regions.
“As stated by PTCL, issue has been reported in data networks between South and North which is causing internet connectivity issues,” the PTA said in a statement on Twitter.
