KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Seven members of a family, travelling between Hyderabad and Karachi, were swept away by flood along with their car. The family went missing on Wednesday after their car was swept away by a flood in the wake of a heavy rain in Sindh.
Later on, the empty car was discovered on the bank of the Malir River, three kilometres away from Karachi’s Link Road.
So far, none of the family members has been rescued/discovered and a search was going on in the Malir River.
Relatives of the missing family said that seven members of the family were in the car at the time of the tragedy.

Meanwhile, a flood from the Thaddo Nadi claimed the life of one woman when it entered Mir Khan Barfat Goth. Fortunately, her three children were rescued timely.
The body of the woman was retrieved and handed over to the family. The flood water damaged many houses in the area.
Pakistan Meteorological Department issued warnings for flashfloods and heavy rains in Sindh between August 16 and 19 and urged people to avoid travel and stay at homes.
