Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Chief Minister, met with an MQM-P delegation led by Khawaja Izhar at CM House to discuss the repair and maintenance of infrastructure damaged during recent heavy monsoon rainstorms in the cities of Karachi and Hyderabad.

Khawaja Izhar, the leader of the MQM-P, informed the meeting that Karachi and Hyderabad’s infrastructure has been severely impacted by the recent rains. Roads and sewer lines have been damaged by the craters, according to him.

According to Khawaja Izhar, both cities’ traffic flow has deteriorated significantly as a result of deteriorated roads and drainage systems. In the city’s roads and sewerage system, CM Murad informed the MQM-P delegation that his government had already allocated Rs5 billion for repairs and maintenance.

He went on to say that the cabinet had also approved an additional Rs1.5 billion for the repair of damaged road and drainage lines along the route of the seven Peoples Bus Service that had just recently begun operating in the city.

Murad said that the assembly had also approved a separate budget for the repair of roads in Hyderabad. The repair and maintenance work in both cities will begin soon, he assured the delegation.

To help those affected by the heavy rains, he has also ordered the city’s deputy commissioners to conduct an assessment of losses and damages caused by the torrential rains on life, property, and crops. Other members of the delegation included Javed Hanif, Mohammad Hussain, Hamid uz Zafar, Rashid Khilji, and Adeel Shahzad.
