On Thursday, the Foreign Office made it clear that SAPM Tariq Fatemi had gone on a “private visit to Washington, DC” and that the Pakistan embassy in Washington had set up his meetings.
In a statement, the FO said that the spokesperson never said that the “Foreign Office did not have any part in his (Fatemi’s) meeting with US officials,” and that there was no need to “disavow” it.
