Another individual was labelled a “bandit” during an alleged robbery incident and received severe injuries at the hands of the crowd.
The act triggered a violent protest from family members and neighbors, who demonstrated forceful protest at his funeral. However, ‘miscreants’ opened fire during the burial, resulting in the deaths of two people.
As a result of these tragic events, Karachi’s Additional Inspector General of Police Javed Akhtar Odho formed an investigation team.
Exactly one week later, the committee finished its work and revealed a disturbing incident.
There was no robbery event, according to the city police head, and the inquiry committee report had concluded that the man killed by the crowd was not a dacoit.
Instead, the city’s police chief provided further context, saying that three men had gone to a “snooker club” where a fight had broken out between the victims and suspects.
The three men were attacked and forced to run away by the suspects. People in the surrounding became aware of the situation when the suspects opened fire and said that the “robbers” were running away.
One of the young men was fatally beaten by the locals and another was wounded; the third was rescued by police, according to Additional IG Karachi Odho.
