From Monday to Wednesday, Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has predicted severe rainfall because of a powerful weather system that is expected to hit the country’s upper and central regions.
Heavy rains might create flooding in urban areas under this system.
The National Disaster Management Authority has also issued an alert to ensure that emergency measures are in place.
In Balochistan’s Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Sherani, Zohb, Dera Bugti, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Lasbela, and Khuzdar, widespread rain-windstorms/ thundershowers with scattered heavy to very heavy falls and isolated hailstorms are forecasted.
Khyber-Pakhtunkwa is expected to get rain in Abbottabad, Bannu, Bajaur, Charsadda, Chitral, Dera Ismail Khan, Dir, Galiyat, Haripur, Khyber, Kohat, Kohistan, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Mansehra, Mardan, Mohmand, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swabi, Swat, and Waziristan.
Heavy rainfall is predicted in Punjab’s Attock, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Chakwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faislabad, Hafizabad, Jhang, Jhelum, Kasur, Khushab, Lahore, Layyah, Mandibahauddin, Mianwali, Multan, Murree, Narowal, Okara, Pakpattan, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Toba Tek Sing.
Throughout Sindh, rain is likely to fall from Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning in Sukkur, Larkana, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, and Karachi.
In Gilgit-Astore, Baltistan’s Diamer, Ghizer, Gilgit, Hunza, and Skardu, rain is forecasted to be widespread.
Bagh, Bhimber, Hattian, Haveli, Kotli; Mirpur; Muzaffarabad; Neelum Valley; and Poonch are all anticipated to get heavy to extremely severe rain.

In Northeast Balochistan, KP, Punjab, G-B, and AJK’s nullahs (rivers) there is a possibility of flash flooding.
Urban flooding in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, and Lahore.
In KP, Punjab, G-B, and AJK, windstorms may damage unsecured constructions.
On Saturday, Punjab’s Kot Addu had the most rain, with 53 millimetres falling from the sky, according to the weather service.
