Rates for power distribution businesses will rise by Rs1.55 per unit (kilowatt-hour) under the quarterly tariff adjustment process from September to December 2021, generating Rs39 billion in income.
On April 28, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NERA) held a public hearing.
All customers, including lifeline customers who use up to 50 units per month, will be subject to the increase, as will some industrial customers who are covered by a support package.
Tariff increases will not affect K-Electric customers.
