Saudi Arabia offers Pakistani students fully funded scholarships

Scholarship recipients in the sciences will get a monthly stipend of 900 Saudi Riyal (SR), while those in the humanities will receive a monthly allowance of 850 SR.

For Pakistani students, the Saudi Arabian government has offered fully funded scholarships to study at the diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels at 25 renowned institutions in the country. These scholarships are open to Pakistani students and those Pakistani who are legal residents of Saudi Arabia.

Over 75% of the scholarships will go to Pakistani students studying outside the Kingdom, with the other 25% going to Pakistani students studying in the Kingdom.

They will also be given an additional monthly stipend and other benefits.

Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) has offered scholarships in political science, law, education, administration, economics and computer science and in agriculture and Arabic and Islamic studies and the media sciences.

Scholarship recipients in the sciences will get a monthly stipend of 900 Saudi Riyal (SR), while those in the humanities will receive a monthly allowance of 850 SR.

Those who are accepted to the universities will also get a free round-trip ticket and free medical care.

Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmiri candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 25 years old for bachelor’s programmes, under the age of 30 for master’s programmes, and under the age of 35 for doctoral programmes at the time of the deadline.

Except for Princess Noor Binte Abdul Rehman Institution for females, Riyadh, and Jamia Islamia Madinah Munawara, which both allow 8% of foreign students to attend on scholarship, no university may accept over 5% of international students.

85% of the seats at Jamia Islamia Madinah Munawara will be made available to students on scholarship.

Free lodging, three months furnishing allowance, return air ticket, free medical for students and their families, if married, three months graduation allowance for shipment of books, a subsidised meal at the campus, sports and recreational activities on campus, and support for dependents and travel expenses are included in this scholarship.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) coalition government has set up Rs65 billion for the HEC in the fiscal year 2022-2023 budget.

Miftah Ismail, the Finance Minister, said that the government has allocated Rs65 billion for the Higher Education Commission in this year’s budget. The HEC has also received an additional Rs44 billion in funding, a 67% increase over the previous year, he said.
