The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) is prepared to begin operations as per Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives after the first instance of an Omicron sub-variant was found in the nation.
The first incidence of the Omicron sub-variant BA.2.12.1 was found in a tourist returning from Qatar to Pakistan on Monday.
The NIH “strongly recommended” booster injections for anyone who may have not got them yet as “the greatest preventative intervention (besides mask-wearing at crowded locations) is the Covid-19 vaccination.”
The NCOC was abolished on March 31 when Covid indicators revealed decreasing tendencies.
