PM Shehbaz’s Cabinet Grows To 41 Members As President Alvi Returns To Work

Sources had informed that three federal and one state ministers will join Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s 37-member federal cabinet on Friday.

ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi returned to work on Friday, swearing in three federal and one state minister into Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s federal cabinet of 41, after he had previously skipped two ceremonies due to “medical concerns”.

At a ceremony held at the President’s House in Islamabad, Chaudhry Saalik of the PML-Q, Agha Hassan of the BNP, and Javed Latif of the PML-N were sworn in as federal ministers. In addition, BNP leader Muhammad Hashim Notezai was sworn in as a minister of state.

The cabinet has added new members

Sources had informed that three federal and one state ministers will join Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s 37-member federal cabinet on Friday.

In addition to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s son, Chaudhry Salik, Javed Latif of the PML-N and Agha Hassan of the BNP, they are all members of the current political parties.

Muhammad Hashim Notezai of the BNP will be sworn in as a state minister while Hassan of the BNP will be the science and technology minister, according to reports.

Govt ends “distrust,” President Alvi announces

The “distrust” between President Arif Alvi and the federal government has been resolved, paving the door for constitutional business to take place.

On Friday, President Alvi is expected to administer the oath of office to four ministers, three federal and one state, according to sources.

President Alvi met with prime minister Shehbaz Sharif following the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, prompting this latest move. However, Alvi had not given the oath of office to Shehbaz and his 37-member cabinet, it is important to note.
