After Eid, PM Shehbaz will speak at a public assembly in Mansehra

The new coalition administration would approve Mansehra district’s new development plans in the centre.

Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister, will speak to a crowd shortly after Eid-ul- Fitr to discuss plans to resume mega-development projects that had been shelved under the previous government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Mohammad Sajjad said on Thursday.

The airport in Mansehra and land purchase for a graveyard for four urban union councils were both started by the PML-N government, the legislator told reporters.

Mr. Khan said that the PML-N government had set aside Rs300 million in 2017, but the district administration had not yet used that money to buy land for the airport.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had also approved Rs200 million for the purchase of land for the burial, but the money remained untapped to the plight of the inhabitants, Mr Sajjad claimed.

A local MNA said that projects that were axed by the previous government would be resurrected.

The new coalition administration would approve Mansehra district’s new development plans in the centre, he added.

Mansehra, Balakot, and Baffa-Pakhal residents, according to the MNA, voted for the PMLN nominees as council chairs, restoring water, road, and gas projects that had been halted under the PTI administration.

District police chief Sajjad Khan has directed the department to put security in Mansehra on high alert ahead of and throughout Eid, saying officers should be stationed in bazaars and sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.

Deputy superintendents of police, SHOs, and investigative officers met with him on Thursday and he gave directives.

The DPO urged the police to keep a close eye on the actions of outlaws who have been released from prison on bail or after completing their sentences.

After Iftar, he suggested, a crackdown on wheelies and racing motorcyclists should begin immediately.
