KARACHI: PTI Chairman Imran Khan went aboard a charter jet to and from Karachi on Saturday, for PTI’s Jalsa, the expenses of which were paid by a Dubai-based Pakistani businessman.
According to a Geo News report, an aviation firm was paid Rs2.9 million for the charter flights and this sum was paid by a Pakistani businessman.
The usage of the rented jet by the PTI leadership, owned by Engro, has become a topic of contention, leading the business to give an explanation.
The statement claimed that they have leased the aircraft out to the aviation firm to be utilised as a chartered plane.
The situation also brought PML-N and PTI leaders face-to-face who became embroiled in a verbal confrontation on Twitter.
Taking to social media, former federal minister Ahsan Iqbal uploaded an image of Imran Khan walking off of the aircraft and wrote, “This is an unprofessional attitude.”
Responding to Iqbal, PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan remarked that intimidating the business sector is a manifestation of the police station’s mindset.
“It is up to a corporation to determine whether to lease its assets (plane) for income, not you,” Ayub remarked.
He added that there was dread and terror in this imported regime.
Omar Ayub also challenged Ahsan Iqbal, “By the way, why are your friends –PPP-not willing to join the government.
