ISLAMABAD: PPP Parliamentarians Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari argues that the PPP is not seizing ministries, but rather wants its friends to be given first consideration.
During a brief news conference at Parliament House on Saturday, he responded to a question from a journalist and said this.
It’s impossible for him to place the entire blame on Shehbaz Sharif, he remarked when questioned on cabinet appointments. There are some who believe that “friends” should be granted a second chance in life.
Parallel to this is a call for candidates for the National Assembly and provincial assemblies by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
According to the PPP’s top officials, Zardari did not mean that the PPP would not be entering the government following his news conference. A senior PPP official who asked to remain anonymous said that the PPP would join the government once it had fulfilled pledges and agreements it had made with coalition partners. According to insiders, the PPP and PMLN met to discuss the cabinet’s final lineup.
