Prime Minister Imran Khan will file a plea in the Supreme Court of Pakistan demanding the creation of a high-powered judicial committee to examine the โLettergateโ, revealed well-placed sources on Wednesday.
The letter is apparently a memo/cable made by the Pakistani envoy deployed in the US and is claimed to have conveyed to the government that the said foreign countryโs leaders had indicated that if the no-confidence vote was successful, everything would be forgiven. And that if Imran Khan were to continue in office, things may get tricky for Pakistan.
PM Imran Khanโs counsels would approach the top court in this respect shortly, stated the individuals privy to the subject.
The Prime Minister would also seek the highest court to explore the global conspiracy to alter the system in Pakistan, horse-trading ahead of voting on the no-trust resolution and the problem of recalcitrant legislators.
On the other side, a foreign news source has stated that the prime minister was informed by the security authorities that they did not find any plan to remove the PTI administration.
The individual, who is privy to such processes, told Reuters, seeking anonymity, that the security services had not come to the same decision as the prime minister and had expressed their perspective to him.
