ISLAMABAD: Showing a very strong reaction to the dissolution of the National Assembly and rejection of the no-confidence motion, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that PM Khan had imposed a โcivil martial lawโ in the country.
Talking to media persons at a press conference with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, JUI-F leader Asad Mehmood, MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, BNP-M chief Akhtar Mengal, and others, Shehbaz Sharif said that PM Imran Khan and his aides have violated the Constitution.

He said, โIn violation of the courtโs orders, the prime minister and the president have taken extra-constitutional steps and dissolved the parliament.โ
He said that it was true that no one could challenge the proceedings of the National Assembly, but a serious violation of the Constitution could not be overlooked.
Referring to the dramatic turn of events in the lower house yesterday, plunging the country into a constitutional crisis, he said Fawad Chaudhry and the speaker read the written letters in the house.
Black Day
Criticising the prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif said, โYesterday will be remembered as a black day in the history of Pakistan.
If something was against Article 5 of the Constitution then why the speaker approved the tabling of the no-confidence motion against PM Imran on March 24, he added.
The PML-N leader said that they made a joke of the Constitution, the Parliament and the law. He maintained that the deputy speaker accused them of betraying the country.
Regarding the โthreat letterโ controversy, Shahbaz said that Pakistanโs Ambassador Asad Majeed hosted a farewell dinner on March 16 and invited US officials, even those who were accused by PM Imran Khan.
In his tweet, Asad Majeed thanked Donald Lu for good relations and cooperation, he added.
โIf the letter was dated March 7 and highlighted the involvement of Donald Lu, why was the ambassador acknowledging the US official during the dinner on March 16,โ he highlighted, questioning why Lu was invited for the dinner if had threatened Pakistan.
The PML-N leader said that if they had received the โthreat letterโ on March 7, then โwhy did they not highlight this issue earlier.โ
He said that the matter is in the Supreme Court and hence, โI will not talk much about it.โ
