ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) claimed on Wednesday that 70 percent of the kids between the ages of 12 and 17 had been properly vaccinated, a major victory in the government’s attempts to manage the coronavirus epidemic.
The NCOC, which acted as the control centre of the government’s concerted fight against the global pandemic, also claimed in its daily report of the disease that the national COVID positive ratio plummeted to the pre-fifth wave levels, while the single-day count of new cases continued to stay under 1,000.
The government initiated the immunisation program among the students in order to keep the educational institutions operational. The NCOC stated 70 percent of students between 12 and 17 years of age have been completely immunized.
According to the centre, the country has a population of 11.3 million between that age bracket. The NCOC claimed that 86pc of pupils have got at least one dosage of a coronavirus vaccination.
The daily report on the sickness revealed that 765 recent cases were found in the previous 24 hours, raising the country’s entire caseload of the infectious disease to 1,510,986. The forum claimed the national positive ratio was 2.23 percent .
According to the NCOC, 22 Covid patients breathed their last within the previous 24 hours, heightening the death toll since the epidemic in the nation two years ago to 30,218.
According to the centre, the hospitalisation of critical patients also decreased below 1,000. It noted in its daily update on the disease that 2,307 people achieved full recovery overnight, lowering the number of active cases to 35,523, including 981 patients in critical care.
