Fawad Dismisses Opposition Criticism Of Rising Oil Prices

ISLAMABAD – Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Thursday that the opposition is criticising the government over the rise in fuel costs.
According to a statement made by the minister, the government is compelled to raise the price of oil since the worldwide market has risen to $95 a barrel.

It is necessary to present an alternative solution to the issue with criticism, but the opposition does not have one, he said.

Despite contradicting pronouncements on the likely evacuation of Russian forces from Ukraine, oil prices increased over 1% on Wednesday.

There have been fears about supply interruptions from Russia, which is the world’s largest oil producer, causing oil prices to rise to $100 a barrel for many weeks.

Since their theft and robbery of national wealth would place them behind bars, Chaudhry predicted that the opposition would fail in their no-confidence motion.

After the cabinet meeting, he remarked, “They may launch a no-confidence motion if they succeeded in rescuing themselves from the corruption charges, but I do not foresee any such move since they would be in prison before making the blunder….”

They have tried to overthrow the democratically elected government 13 times before, and this time they will fail again, he warned.
