LAHORE: PPP chair Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari advocated on Tuesday that the establishment should play a neutral role, claiming that this would lead to the long march’s success.
According to party leader Bilawal, “We have never been interested in [forming links] with the establishment, and we never will be,” because these “establishment” contacts are founded on media conjecture.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has previously said that the anti-government long march from Karachi to Islamabad will take place on February 27.
There is only one way to get rid of this “chosen” administration, he continued, and that is to hold an open and honest voting process.
It was revealed that Bilawal’s party will vote for a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan rather than besiege the National Assembly, as per Bilawal.
An unreasonable action by political groups against the administration might lead to a Pakistani crisis, Bilawal said. This was the ultimate resort, according to their deal with the PDM.
“The Parliament will be the place where we conduct political business, not a sit-in or an attack on the institutions. To overthrow the government, we must follow the Constitution’s guidelines.”
A dig at the PML-N, he added that if it had the backing of 34 members of the National Assembly, it should file a resolution of confidence against the prime minister.

Speaking about Yousaf Raza Gillani, the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Bilawal stated his total faith in him. Several people have been trying to destroy their reputation since the long march was announced.
Since Gillani was one of eight opposition senators preventing approval of the State Bank (Amendment) Bill, he announced his resignation on Monday.
