ISLAMABAD: The Finance Division said that no timeline was fixed to conclude talks with the International Monetary Fund for release of another $1 billion from the bail out package.
The Finaยญnce Division annoยญunced that negotiations between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are moving forward in Washington positively.
Latest media reports claimed that the talks between the Pakistani and IMF teams, so far, remained inconclusive for the release of further tranche by the IMF.
The Secretary of Finance Division is leading the talks with the IMF in Washington DC and technical teams of both sides are continuing detailed discussions in virtual format after exchange of relevant data sets.

Earlier on Friday, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin while addressing a news conference at the Pakistan Embassy, following a round of talks with IMF, had said that finance secretary would stay in Washington for continuing the talks with the lender while the governor of State Bank and he himself would be in New York and join the talks virtually.
Importantly, the six months term of Shaukat Tarin as Finance Minister has ended from Oct 12, 2021, and now secretary finance is leading the Pakistani delegation for talks with IMF.
