Pakistan’s Gulf-bound airlines faced severe disruptions on Wednesday as 75 flights were cancelled due to the ongoing Iran conflict. The cancellations have significantly affected passenger travel, creating widespread inconvenience across major airports.
Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport saw 18 flights to Doha, Bahrain, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi cancelled. Similarly, Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport experienced 22 cancellations for flights headed to Doha, Kuwait, Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.
New Islamabad International Airport also suffered, with 19 flights to Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi being cancelled. Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport lost 16 scheduled flights bound for Gulf destinations.
Operational Flights Remain Limited
Despite the cancellations, a few flights continued operations. Karachi had 14 flights running, Lahore 13, and Islamabad 20. Overall, only 72 flights from all Pakistani airports to Gulf countries were operational on Wednesday, leaving passengers with limited travel options.
