The Israel Defense Forces (ID) carried out strikes on multiple Iranian intelligence and command facilities in Tehran. It showed the intensity of attacks against Iran.
The IDF said it targeted more than 10 headquarters belonging to Iranโs intelligence apparatus, including offices linked to the Ministry of Intelligence. Israeli officials described the sites as central to Iranโs internal and external intelligence coordination, claiming the strikes aimed to weaken command structures and disrupt operational planning.
The military also said it struck facilities associated with the Quds Force, the overseas operations branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. According to Israel, the unit plays a key role in directing Iranโs regional networks and allied groups.
Targets and objectives
Israeli officials framed the attacks as part of a broader effort to degrade Iranโs intelligence and military capabilities. They argued that dismantling command hubs would limit Tehranโs ability to coordinate attacks or support regional allies. However, Iranian authorities have not immediately confirmed the extent of the damage or casualties.
Residents in Tehran reported hearing explosions in different parts of the capital, though independent verification of the specific sites hit remained limited. Local media provided little detail, reflecting tight information controls during the escalating confrontation.
Rising confrontation
The strikes mark another step in the rapidly intensifying conflict between Israel and Iran. In recent days, both sides have exchanged threats and military actions, raising fears of a wider regional escalation.
Observers warn that continued strikes on strategic infrastructure could trigger further retaliation, potentially drawing additional regional actors into the conflict and deepening instability across the Middle East.
