The Ministry of Education in Kuwait announced that distance learning will continue until further notice for all educational levels and systems across the country. The decision applies to general education, religious education, private schools, and evening classes.
Officials confirmed that schools will conduct classes online through the Microsoft Teams platform. Moreover, the ministry stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with relevant authorities before making any additional decisions. It emphasized that it will publish any new measures only through official channels and approved websites.
Safety measures drive continued online education
Earlier, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Hamad Al-Hamad reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to protecting students as well as educational and administrative staff. He stressed that the ministry introduced distance learning during the current period to ensure safety and maintain academic continuity.
In addition, Al-Hamad outlined the structure of the remote school day. He confirmed that each lesson will last 25 minutes, while schools will begin the day at 9:30 a.m. in accordance with the approved Ramadan schedule. The ministry implemented these adjustments to align with the holy month’s timing and provide flexibility for students and teachers.
Universities follow similar precautionary steps
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education confirmed that distance learning will remain in place until further notice. Furthermore, both Kuwait University and Abdullah Al-Salem University continue to operate remotely under similar precautionary measures.
Authorities reiterated that they will assess developments regularly and adjust policies as needed. However, they urged students and parents to rely solely on official sources for updates regarding the academic calendar and instructional methods.
