A man who had traveled from Haroonabad to Lahore to visit his daughter was kidnapped and later found murdered, with his body recovered from Kasur, police confirmed on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Amanat Ali, was reportedly abducted after leaving his daughterโs home in the Green Town area. Police said he had visited his daughter for dinner on February 6 but did not return home.
When contact could not be established, Amanat Aliโs daughter immediately filed a kidnapping report at Green Town police station the same day.
Authorities explained that the body was later discovered in Kasur. However, due to the absence of proper identification at the time, local police proceeded with burial procedures. Consequently, the family could not claim the remains immediately.
Police are now working to complete all legal formalities to facilitate the handover of Amanat Aliโs body to his relatives. Investigators have launched a detailed probe to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the abduction and killing.
Evidence is being collected from multiple locations connected to the case. Officials emphasized that arrests are expected soon, as the investigation progresses.
The tragic incident has sparked concern regarding public safety, particularly highlighting the risks associated with inter-district travel and crimes. Experts and authorities have urged improved identification protocols to prevent delays in confirming the identity of victims.
Police have also called for stronger coordination between districts to ensure prompt action in similar abduction cases in the future.
This case underscores the urgent need for effective law enforcement measures to curb violent crimes and provide citizens with a safer environment.
