Pakistan has dispatched another major humanitarian aid shipment for Palestinians in Gaza, reinforcing its sustained relief efforts amid the ongoing crisis. The National Disaster Management Authority confirmed that the latest consignment consists of 100 tonnes of tents intended to support displaced families.
This shipment marks Pakistanโs 28th relief consignment sent to Gaza since the conflict escalated in October 2023. As a result, the total volume of humanitarian assistance dispatched by Pakistan has now reached 2,727 tonnes.
Details of the Latest Aid Shipment
According to official details, the consignment includes emergency shelter supplies aimed at addressing urgent housing needs. The shipment was arranged with the support of the Alkhidmat Foundation and transported via a special relief flight.
The aid departed from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and was flown to El Arish International Airport in Egypt. From there, it will be delivered onward to Gaza through established humanitarian corridors.
Officials Attend Dispatch Ceremony in Lahore
The dispatch ceremony was attended by senior officials from relevant departments. Punjabโs Minister for Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering, Bilal Yasin, was present as a special guest.
Officials from the disaster management authority and the foreign ministry also attended the event. They reiterated Pakistanโs continued commitment to humanitarian support for Palestinians affected by conflict and displacement.
Pakistanโs Ongoing Support for Gaza
Pakistan began sending humanitarian aid to Gaza on October 19, 2023, shortly after hostilities intensified. Since then, relief shipments have included medicines, tents, food supplies, and emergency essentials.
Despite logistical challenges, Pakistan has consistently expanded its relief operations. These efforts have continued even during periods of restricted access and security concerns.
Worsening Humanitarian Conditions in Gaza
The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains severe due to prolonged conflict and widespread destruction. Large segments of the population remain displaced and dependent on external aid.
International concern has grown over shortages of shelter, medical supplies, and basic necessities. Human rights organisations have repeatedly highlighted the scale of civilian suffering.
Meanwhile, humanitarian activists have announced plans to renew international aid efforts this year. However, access to Gaza remains tightly controlled, complicating relief delivery.
Commitment to Continued Humanitarian Assistance
Pakistani authorities have emphasized that humanitarian assistance will continue based on evolving needs. Relief operations remain focused on shelter, healthcare, and essential survival support.
Officials stressed that Pakistanโs aid is purely humanitarian and aimed at alleviating civilian suffering.
