Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has confirmed that jailed party founder Imran Khan’s health is improving. The update followed an eye procedure carried out recently.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan shared the information after meeting Bushra Bibi. He said the message came directly from the former first lady.
According to him, doctors had warned that delaying treatment could risk loss of eyesight. Therefore, medical intervention was necessary.
Severe Eye Pain Led to Urgent Medical Treatment
Barrister Gohar explained that Imran Khan had complained of intense eye pain. As a result, doctors advised immediate treatment at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
He said the procedure took place last week. Treatment is still ongoing, according to medical advice.
Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi’s family was allowed to meet her after three months. However, Imran Khan was not present during that meeting.
Message Conveyed to Party Through Bushra Bibi
The PTI chairman said Imran Khan sent a message for party leadership and legal teams. He added that he would pass it on internally.
However, he clarified that no political discussions took place during the meeting. There was also no conversation about protests or future political plans.
Therefore, claims of political activity during jail meetings were dismissed.
PTI Criticises Restrictions on Jail Meetings
Barrister Gohar expressed concern over limited access to the PTI founder. He said jail meetings should not become political tools.
He argued that there is no written rule banning political discussion in prison. According to him, different standards are applied to different parties.
As a result, he questioned fairness within the system.
Call for Nationwide Action Against Terrorism
While speaking to media, the PTI chief also addressed security issues. He urged decisive action against terrorism across the country.
He said operations should cover Tirah, Bajaur, Punjab, and Balochistan. However, he stressed the need for a unified national narrative.
Therefore, he called for implementation under the National Action Plan.
No Knowledge of Foreign Offers, PTI Clarifies
Barrister Gohar denied knowledge of any reported offer from Turkiye regarding Imran Khan. He recalled the former prime minister’s statement about remaining tied to Pakistan.
Separately, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja alleged a coordinated campaign against the party. He claimed decisions were being taken selectively.
He also referred to internal disciplinary matters. However, implementation was deferred until after February 8.
Situation Remains Politically Sensitive
Overall, PTI maintained that Imran Khan’s condition is stable and improving. The party urged restraint from speculation and misinformation.
For now, focus remains on medical recovery rather than political escalation.
