- Sindh govt under fire in NA over Karachi lockdown
The treasury members from Karachi on Tuesday blasted the PPP-led Sindh government in the National Assembly for its decision to impose a strict lockdown in the provincial capital in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, alleged political victimization of the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly, and “worsening law and order situation” in the city as one of the MNAs even called for the imposition of governor rule in the province.
- No judge applied for allotment of plot: IHC registrar
The registrar of the Islamabad High Court has informed the law secretary to communicate to the activists of Women Action Forum (WAF) that neither IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah nor any sitting judge of the high court has ever applied to any government authority or agency for the allotment of a plot and that no plot has been allotted to the judges.
- Electronic machines to make electoral process fair
Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz on Tuesday said his ministry had developed the electronic voting machine, which will contribute to making the electoral process fair and transparent.
“The electronic voting machine has been developed according to requirements of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Today we have briefed the Cabinet about this new device and its benefits,” Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz said.
