Intelligence-Led Operation Conducted in Balochistan
Security forces killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistanโs Panjgur district. The operation was carried out on Sunday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations. The military said the action was based on confirmed intelligence about terrorist presence in the area.
In its statement, the ISPR said the terrorists belonged to an Indian-sponsored network. The group was identified as Fitna al Hindustan. This term is used by the state for Balochistan-based militant groups. These groups are accused of receiving external support to target Pakistanโs security forces.
The ISPR said troops moved swiftly after receiving actionable intelligence. The operation was launched in a remote part of Panjgur. Security forces surrounded the suspected hideout. Contact was established soon after the operation began.
During the raid, an intense exchange of fire took place. As a result, three terrorists were killed on the spot. The military described the engagement as precise and effective. No casualties among security personnel were reported.
Local Terrorist Commander Eliminated
Among the killed militants was a local terrorist commander. He was identified as Farooq, also known as Soro. The ISPR said he was actively involved in terrorist activities across the region. He was considered a key operative in the area.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site. The recovered material indicated plans for further attacks. Officials said the terrorists had been targeting both security forces and civilians. Their activities had contributed to instability in the district.
The military said the operation disrupted militant networks in Panjgur. It also weakened the operational capability of Fitna al Hindustan. According to the ISPR, such groups aim to spread fear and sabotage development in Balochistan.
Following the encounter, sanitisation operations were launched. These efforts aim to clear the area of any remaining threats. Security teams are continuing search operations in surrounding locations. Authorities said the process would continue until the area is fully secured.
Counterterrorism Efforts Continue Nationwide
The ISPR reaffirmed Pakistanโs commitment to counterterrorism. It said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations at full pace. The goal is to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
These efforts are being carried out under the national vision of โAzm e Istehkam.โ The initiative focuses on long-term stability and security. It aims to dismantle militant infrastructure and prevent future attacks.
Despite successful operations, militancy remains a serious challenge. In 2025, Pakistan witnessed a sharp rise in terrorist incidents. A report by the Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies highlighted the trend. Terrorist attacks increased by 34 percent during the year.
The same report said terrorism-related fatalities rose by 21 percent year on year. This was recorded despite a high number of militant deaths. Analysts said militant groups are changing tactics and expanding targets.
Earlier this month, another intelligence-based operation was conducted in Kalat district. Four terrorists were killed during that operation. Security officials said these actions show continued pressure on militant networks.
The military stressed that such operations will continue. Officials said peace in Balochistan remains a top priority. They added that sacrifices will not go in vain.
