Police in Karachi recovered the bodies of a woman and three children hanging inside a house in the Ganna Mandi area of Sohrab Goth, in an incident initially described as an apparent suicide.
Rescue officials confirmed that the four deceased include 30-year-old Fatima and her children, aged 10, 3, and 2 years. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
SSP East Zubair Nazir Ahmed Shaikh said that while initial reports suggested suicide, a conclusive determination will follow a detailed review of all evidence. Police are examining every aspect of the case, including family dynamics and possible motives.
Sindh Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjar instructed authorities to ensure that the investigation is impartial and transparent and directed that any accused be promptly brought before the court.
Authorities are interrogating the womanโs husband, Najeebullah, who works at a vegetable market and had reportedly contracted a second marriage with an Afghan woman.
The deceased woman was from Afghanistan, while the husband hails from Layyah. Police continue to probe the family and household circumstances to uncover the facts behind the tragedy.
This incident comes shortly after another disturbing case in Karachi, where three womenโa mother, daughter, and daughter-in-lawโwere found dead inside a house in Gulshan-e-Iqbalโs Block 1 area. Rescue officials had also reported a man found unconscious at the scene, with the familyโs young son alerting authorities.
Authorities emphasized that investigations are ongoing and no conclusions should be drawn prematurely. The police are working to gather statements from neighbors and relatives, examine forensic evidence, and reconstruct events leading up to the deaths.
The tragic deaths of Fatima and her children have raised concerns about domestic tensions, mental health, and family safety, prompting local officials to monitor such cases closely to prevent similar incidents.
